Hollywood Sign Hotel?

“The Hollywood sign is a symbol of the famous star city and is probably one of the few landmarks known throughout the Globe. But what most people don’t know is that lately it is going through a series of issues concerning the land it is placed on and the money the property involves. This is probably why Christian Bay – Jørgensen, owner of Bay Arch, came up with such a crazy idea that it may just come true. He suggested turning the sign into a hotel by doubling the letters and allowing guests to be accommodated within the characters. If this is going to be put to practice, we imagine it will become a very successful business.”

KEG Apartment

“By Aristide Antonas, who designed houses inside empty tanker trucks. See more photos  here.
“The keg apartment is proposed as a program. One can also recognize different strata of architectural solutions in this work. They are grouped here in two versions. The keg wagons can be detached from their cars and can form more stable units for a certain period. A big circular window can be introduced in the vehicle’s cylinder towards the car’s side with the use of an enforced circular frame. This will give the form of a window open to the driver’s section or to any chosen view if the keg stops in a particular way. The circular window can also serve as a projection screen surface if a special tissue is unfolded.”

Vancouver Dream Home

The Shaw House, designed by architectural firm Patkau Architects.

“The Shaw House won several design awards in the years immediately after construction was completed, including the prestigious National Honor Award in 2005 from the American Institute of Architects. The reason it drew such attention is due to the fact that the designated site for the Shaw House unkindly dictated that this single occupant residence could not be greater than 8 meters wide (26ft or so)…”

101 Spiral Staircases

“These 101 sexy spiraling shapes are architectural art. They twist, curling like a spring. This is a celebration of spiraling architectural design, angles versus curves. They may make you smile or they may induce vertigo, but here are some the most impressive, most dizzying, spiraling staircases from around the world.”

Godiva Chocoiste – Tokyo

Wonderwall designed this new concept flagship store adding a breath of fresh air to the more traditional image of Chocolatier Godiva. The shop features humorous design details such as the “melting chocolate” ceiling combined with the primarily classical interior design. The boutique is located in Tokyo’s popular and fashionable district of Harajuku where passers-by can view both its entrance as well as the customers enjoying their time with chocolate on the second floor cafe.” More images after the jump.  source
