A Swedish aerospace technology company is using missile technology to map the world in fully-detailed 3D. The demo video even shows a zoomed-in stadium complete with crisp billboards. The tech is currently being licensed by Nokia for its mapping service. Visit the C3 website here.

Hambuster is a graduation movie co-directed by five students from Supinfocom Arles. This production is a 6 min short film and it was all done in 3D stereoscopic.

Google recently launched the Art Project. The search giant brought their street view technology into museums around the globe, allowing you to walk around the museums, zoom in on artworks and discover the various environments as if you were actually there. This is a really cool use of the technology and it will be interesting to see this evolve as they add more museums to explore.
Renowned UK street artist, Banksy, was hired by Simpsons producers to create the opening sequence for last Sunday’s episode. The amount of internet hype the sequence has received within one day of its airing is huge. More details about Fox’s reaction to the youtube attention can be found after the jump. If anyone hadn’t heard of Banksy before this show aired, they certainly have now.
